Again, video of looking about as cooperative as you can look when being arrested:

I know I’m a UT homer but every single bit of new news and information I get supports Benson more and more. I have a feeling this gets thrown out at his hearing on May 19th.

It’s been way too long since we’ve posted a Rose Bowl video, so check out one of the best I’ve seen below:

Texas vs. USC from YouTube.com

Makes me want to go watch my Rose Bowl DVD for the tenth time. This video tries to highlight the game itself and not just the Horns, but it still turns out to be much more of a Longhorn video. Not that that’s a bad thing. I could watch the last three minutes of this thing over and over again. The only thing it is missing is the audio from Craig Way’s call of the 4th and 5 play to win it.

Thanks go to jbHorn over on Orangebloods for the link.

ESPN draft expert Todd McShay loves . He has the Texas receiver going 24th in Saturday’s draft to the Titans, but he’s even higher on him than most NFL teams. McShay believes that “ten years from now, we’re going to say Limas Sweed was the most productive and most talented wide receiver in the 2008 NFL Draft class.” Pretty bold statement and I sure hope he’s right, especially if Sweed is on the receiving end of Vince Young’s passes in Tennessee for the next ten years.

Watch his scouting report below, the quote is at the very end:

This commercial looks like it’s at least a few months old, but I saw it this weekend for the first time during the Spurs/Suns playoff game. It’s an ad for NBAStore.com and features slowly walking down the stadium tunnel taking off one jersey after another.

Watch the commercial below:

Kevin Durant’s NBA Commercial from YouTube.com

Kevin starts wearing a Boys & Girls Club jersey, takes it off to reveal the jersey of the mighty Drew-Freeman Middle School Falcons, then his high school Montrose Christian, then the red and gold McDonald’s All-American uni, after that is his Nike Texas Longhorn #35, and finally as he nears the end of the tunnel he reveals his Seattle SuperSonics jersey. I guess next year they’ll have to update it again to add another one. Very cool commercial and always great to see Kevin wearing the burnt orange on national television.

Former Horn was nails for the Sonics last night in what was likely the team’s last game in Seattle. In a two overtime win over the Denver Nuggets, Durant had 37 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists but played an even bigger role than his career best stat line shows. With 22 seconds left in regulation he hit a huge 3-pointer to tie the game and send it to overtime. Then, with just five seconds left in the first overtime period he drained a 30-foot bomb to again tie up the game. It was a superstar shot.

Watch the second of his big shots below:

Great game and great clutch job by Kevin. His ability and willingness to take and hit shots like that are what separates him from other players. The Sonics are terrible and he started off trying to carry the team by taking tons of threes (yet was still Rookie of the Year frontrunner even then), but once he found his groove midseason he’s been playing at a much higher level. After several months hovering around 40% shooting, Durant made 53% of his shots in February.

With five games left in the season the Sonics are likely going to end up with one of the league’s three worst records and at worst a top five pick in the 2008 draft. If the Sonics can land another big time player (hopefully Memphis point guard Derrick Rose) with that pick they’ll have an incredibly young and gifted core to build on just up the road in Oklahoma City next year.

This was too entertaining not to post:

At first I was sympathetic to Aggie fans, it would be tough to lose a game that way. Then they started acting like Aggies and threatening a lawsuit over the non-call. Seriously. It didn’t take long to remember there is never a good reason to take pity on them. Now I laugh and laugh and laugh at their despair. (via)

After a big victory over Stanford Friday, the Longhorns now face their toughest test by far of the tournament in the Tigers. Before the tournament started, I thought the Tigers had a chance to be one of the first number one seeds knocked off. It’s a lot later than I thought but that could still be the case if Texas takes care of business Sunday afternoon.

If the Horns want to hand Memphis only their second loss of the season they’ll have to contain the dynamic guard duo of freshman Derrick Rose and 6-foot-7 junior Chris Douglas-Roberts. Both players are averaging around 15 points and 4 rebounds per game and are excellent on offense and defense. The battle between point guards Rose and should be an entertaining match-up to watch.

Watch the SI.com video preview of Memphis below:

After playing well in hostile territory in the first two rounds, the Longhorns come home to Texas for the Sweet 16. On Friday the Horns will take on in a 2 vs. 3 match-up in Houston. The Cardinal pose the biggest challenge in the tourney yet for Texas, particularly the giant Lopez twins down inside.

The 14 feet of Lopezes in the paint means the Longhorns need a big game defensively from the likes of , , , , and big . On the offensive end Texas needs another hot shooting night out of junior guard , but open looks won’t come as easily as they did in the previous two games.

Watch the SI.com video preview of Stanford below:

After taking care of business on Friday, the Longhorns take on today at 1:15 pm in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. To get past the Hurricanes Texas will have to keep shooting the ball well from outside and stop Jack McClinton from going off. McClinton is an excellent scorer and had 38 points in their first round win over Saint Mary’s. If he does that again the Hurricanes have a good chance of pulling off the upset today.

To learn more about McClinton and the rest of his teammates, watch the SI.com Film Room Preview below:

This time ESPN college basketball guru Joe Lunardi previews the Governors. Sort of. He’s only got 36 seconds of information on Texas’ opening round opponent, and he still couldn’t make it that long without a urine-related joke. No mention of a single player or coach, watch the SI.com preview video for some better analysis.

Here’s the preview of Austin Peay:

ESPN expert Joe Lunardi loves the Horns spot in the South bracket. He thinks Texas has the best résumé in the country and will make it to the Final Four in San Antonio.

Watch his NCAA Tourney preview of Texas below:

I’m not even sure where is located, but the Longhorns will be taking them on Friday in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The former school of NBA legends Trenton Hassell and Bubba Wells, Austin Peay has 8,650 undergraduate students at the Clarksville, Tennessee campus. The 15th-seeded team in the South bracket, the Governors are led by scorer Drake Reed and outside shooter Todd Babington.

The Longhorns will face the Governors on Friday at 2pm on CBS. Start working on your excuse to leave work early now.

SI.com has video previews up of all 65 NCAA Tournament teams in their Film Room section. Not exactly a ton of insight, but some nice highlight video of each team and it is a good way to get to know the players to watch.

Here’s the Texas preview:

It’s been a while since has been in a groove, but he certainly was feeling it Saturday afternoon against the Sooners. In the Big 12 tourney semifinals, Abrams got out of his funk in a big way by making 7 of 12 three point attempts to score 24 points. His shooting helped the Horns take a close game at half time and turn it into a blowout.

ESPN video highlights are below:

Next up for Texas is their third straight match-up with Kansas in the Big 12 Championship finals. Texas lost the previous two games and has never won a conference tournament since the Big 12 was formed. If the Horns can pull out the victory over KU, they’ve still got a shot at a #1 seed for the Big Dance. The game will be on ESPN Sunday at 2pm.

The Longhorns got past the Cowboys on Friday afternoon by a score of 66-59. The Horns were up by a comfortable margin for almost the entire second half but could never quite put the Cowboys away and had to hold them off during one final run late. and led the team on offense, both shooting the ball very well from the outside. On the defensive side of things was active as usual and big man blocked four more shots.

Check out some video highlights below:

With the win Texas advances to the Big 12 Tournament semifinals. They’ll face off against the fourth-seeded Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday at 1pm. The game will be televised by ESPN2 and ESPN+ in Big 12 markets.

Many Texas fans are disappointed that stud prospect Russell Shepard won’t be a Longhorn, but the coaches did reel in the player I think is an even bigger recruit in Lake Travis quarterback Garrett Gilbert. The elite QB can sling the football around the field with the best the state’s ever produced at the position. He’s intelligent, talented, and polished, and with the talent that will be around him at Texas my expectations for him are incredibly high.

If you’ve got any doubts, check out the highlight video below from his sophomore season:

I can’t help but think Gilbert’s career leading the Longhorns is going to be a fun time to be a Texas fan.

Irving Macarthur linebacker Tariq Allen was one of the most sought after defensive prospects in Texas this spring before commiting to the Longhorns this week. Allen has offers from Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Kansas and national programs like Michigan and Notre Dame were showing heavy interest as well in the speedy middle linebacker. Now you can see for yourself why so many teams are after him.

It’s not the Rivals’ video I mentioned earlier, but it is definitely a lot of the same highlights. Check out video from Allen’s junior year below:

Impressive stuff, definitely has a nose for the football. Can’t wait to see Tariq on the Forty Acres anchoring the middle of our defense.

The last two and a half minutes were downright ugly, but despite another tough game for and some awful clutch free throw shooting the Longhorns topped the Baylor Bears in Waco Saturday afternoon. The 11th ranked Horns blew nearly all of a 14-point lead in the final three minutes, but did just enough to hold on for a 82-77 conference win. Next up is another ESPN Big Monday game at home against the Aggies at 8pm.

Once again the Horns stepped up big in front of a national audience Monday night, playing good, tough basketball in route to a big upset win of #3 . The win puts the team in good shape for a Big 12 run and gives the team another quality win come tourney seeding. Check out my live blog of the game and ESPN’s highlights of the game below:

Yesterday the Longhorns overcame a 13-point deficit in their way to a 71-65 win over in Ames. Read the Bevo Sports’ recap or check below for ESPN highlights of the game:

Muschamp is ready to get the defense going. Watching the video of the press conference got me fired up.

I’m not sure whether or not is telling the truth, but I’m also not sure I buy that Brian McNamee knows anything either. Clemens sure seems confident that McNamee has no proof, and he’s pissed about it as well:

Clemens has filed a defamation lawsuit in Harris County. Clemens claims McNamee originally made his allegations to federal authorities after being threatened with criminal prosecution if he didn’t implicate Clemens.

He better be 100% positive McNamee doesn’t have sort of evidence, and that there’s no way anyone else can come forward with proof he took HGH or steroids. If he had just issued a denial and then let the whole thing go the only thing really at stake was his Hall of Fame entry. The strong denial and lawsuit are certainly risky maneuvers, Roger is putting it all out of the table in an attempt to prove his innocence. Even if Clemens can discredit McNamee or disprove these current allegations, unfortunately a can of worms has been opened that there may be no way to close.

Aggies eat their boogers. Seriously. This is no school yard taunt, an Aggie fan picked his nose and ate it on national TV tonight during their Alamo Bowl loss to Penn State. Watch below:

I’d rather be Chris Jessee than that guy right now.
